65. Would you like me to~ 내가 ~할까?

A: Ross. Did you know mom and dad are going to Puerto Rico for Thanksgiving?

        ◆ Be going to ~할 것이다 (미래)

        Be going to go to New York. 원래는 문법적으로 이 문장이 맞지만

        단어가 반복되는 것을 싫어하는 미국인의 특성상 뒤에 지명, 장소가 나오면

        Be going to에 “~로 갈거다”라는 의미가 포함되어 Go to를 생략한다.

        예문) I’m going to New York.

                 I’m going to the party.

                 I’m going to the beach.

 

        또한 be going to+동사는 줄여서 be gonna+동사로 사용하는데 

        뒤에 지명이 나올 때는 줄이지 않고 be going to+지명을 그대로 써준다.

 

        Q) 뉴욕으로 지금 가고 있다? 라고 말하고 싶을 때는?

        A) I’m going to New York now. 로 표현해준다

B: What? How can they do this to us?

A: I’ll tell you what. Would you like me to cook dinner at my place?

        ◆ I’ll tell you what 있잖아

A: Joey. You’re going home, right? Phoebe. You’re gonna be with your grandma.

C: Yes. And her boyfriend. But we’re celebrating Thanksgiving in December cause he’s lunar.

        ◆ Come : 상대방이 나에게 오다/내가 상대방에게 오다 

             ➨ 말을 하는 사람이 말을 듣는 상대방의 입장에서 이야기한다

             피비가 모니카에게 말함 ➨ 모니카 입장에서는 비피가 집에 오는 것.

             예) I’m coming. 나 너에게 가고 있어 ➨ 둘 사이가 점점 가까워진다는 늬앙스

             예문> When can you come here? I can come there at 3.

                       Can I come in?

        ◆ Go : 둘 사이가 가까워지는 경우 빼고/ 제 3의 장소로 갈 때

            예문> Let’s go to the movies.

A: Yeah. Rach. Are you thinking you’re gonna make it to Vail?

        ◆ Make it

        ① 해내다,성공하다 He never made it as an actor. 배우로서는 성공하지 못했다

        ② 약속시간에 맞추다 What time can we make it? 몇시에 만날까?

        ③ 도착하다,다다르다 Are you gonna make it to Vail? 베일에 갈거야?

D: Absolutely. Only one hundred and two dollars to go.

E: I thought it was ninety eight dollars and fifty cents.

D: Yeah, well, it was. I broke a cup.

B: Well, I’m off to Carol’s.

        예문> I’m just off to school. 막 학교로 출발해.

                  I’m off to bed now. 지금 자러가.  

C: Oh, oh. Why don’t we invite her?

B: Oh, oh. Because she’s my ex-wife and will probably want to bring her, ooh, ooh, lesbian life partner.

Would you like to pay? 계산하실래요?

Would you like me to pay? 너 대신 내가 계산할까? 행동을 하는 주체는 ME 이다.

 

비교) Can I get~? (=can you get me~?) 주실래요?

         Can I get you~? 드릴까요?

         I want to 나는 ~하고 싶다.

         I want you to 네가 ~했으면 좋겠어.

         Do you want me to 내가 ~하길 바라니?
